Yesterday's Storms (Wednesday, July 14 2010) Yes, unfortunately much damage here in my area ...including here at home. Destroyed by the storms and completely downed were four rooted giants here in Sleepy Hollow :( :( one of those giants, taking another one with it as it fell, was the infamous "Keebler Tree" ...Gram played in it's limbs as a child :( You might recall this pic:

As reported by Petti Fong, "The worst year for the Stampede in terms of loss of animals was in 1986 when 12 horses died during the rodeo. In 2005, nine horses crossing over the Bow River died after jumping off a bridge."

Disabled friends in wheelchairs will also join us on that day to work their upper body strength and take part in maintaining a healthy heart which is our main focus here, it's a time to get out of the house and motivate mind and body. About a VERY Special Dog Named
"FAITH"
This dog was born on Christmas Eve in the year 2002. He was
born
with 2 legs - He of course could not walk when he was born. Even
his mother did not want him.
His first owner also did not think that he could survive and he was
thinking of 'putting him to sleep'. But then, his present owner, Jude
Stringfellow, met him and wanted to take care of him. She became
determined to teach and train this little dog to walk by himself.
She named him 'Faith'.
In the beginning, she
put Faith on a surfboard to let him feel the
movement. Later she used peanut butter on a spoon as a lure
and reward for him for standing up and jumping around.
Even the other dog at home encouraged him to walk.
Amazingly, only after 6 months, like a miracle, Faith learned to balance
on his hind legs and to jump to move forward. After further training in
the snow, he could now walk like a human being.
Faith loves to walk around
now.
No matter where he goes, he attracts people to him.
He is fast becoming famous on the international scene and
has appeared on various newspapers and TV shows.
There is now a book entitled 'With a Little Faith' being published about him.
He was even considered to appear in one of Harry Potter movies.
His present owner Jude
Stringfellew has given up her teaching post and
plans to take him around the world to preach that even without a perfect body,
one can have a perfect soul'.
In life there are always
undesirable things, so in order to feel better
you just need to look at life from another direction.
I hope this message will bring fresh new ways of thinking to everyone
and that everyone will appreciate and be thankful for each beautiful day.
Faith is the continual demonstration of the strength and wonder of life.

I am asked all too often how I feel about our new President.
Well, I am trying to keep politics off this site for the most part, (you'll find very little of it here) with the exception of a few of my strong-minded complaints from the past...
Like most of you, I have a very difficult time trusting or putting too much faith in our politicians ...and quite frankly, each of our candidates had plusses and minusses but I've been leery of all of our candidates. I am not sure Obama is on the right track to getting us out of our disastrous condition ...but Hell...he has the worst job in the world right now.... In my attempts to re-direct conversations away from the political scene, I am always asked something like.... "But what do you think of him 'as a person', Laura?" Why people ask me this before the conversation comes to a close, I don't know... but to answer everyone here publicly I LOVE HIM! I might not agree with every political move, but I absolutely love the guy. You know, there is something about him. I smile every time I see his face on television, can't help it. The guy has some super-powered mojo. Sure, he has some haters out there, I have no doubt, but let me tell you something, he is loved by the world over and the people who dig this guy FAAAARRRRR outnumber any haters......yup, I love him... I can still be leery... trust has to be earned after all ... yet, gosh he has me hooked on his personality. There is no quick fix for our Country, no easy fix ...and no fix that will please everyone ...but we're all in this together My Sweets. AND THEN, there is Michelle Obama! WOW what a beautiful DOLL!!! We have a sexy, hot, totally awesome First Lady with the same type of charming personality who is also capturing hearts across the globe. I wish our entire First Family all the best from life that they could ever wish for. ............and let's hope they can make a difference........... So far, they've already inspired hope. I'm not able to say if Obama will be a productive President ... we need more time to decide that.... but he sure seems like one Hell of cool guy.

Hans Holzer, Ghost Hunter, Dies at 89 -The New York Times
Hans Holzer, whose investigations into the paranormal took him to haunted houses all over the world, most notably the Long Island house that inspired “The Amityville Horror,” died on Sunday at his home in Manhattan. He was 89. The death was confirmed by his daughter Alexandra Holzer. Mr. Holzer — who wrote more than 140 books on ghosts, the afterlife, witchcraft, extraterrestrial beings and other phenomena associated with the realm he called “the other side” — carried out his most famous investigation with the medium Ethel Johnson-Meyers in 1977. Together they roamed the house in Amityville, in which a young man, Ronald DeFeo Jr., had murdered his parents and four siblings in 1974. The house had become notorious after its next owners claimed to have been tormented by a series of spine-chilling noises and eerie visitations, set forth in the best-selling 1977 book “The Amityville Horror: A True Story,” written by Jay Anson. After Ms. Johnson-Meyers channeled the spirit of a Shinnecock Indian chief, who said that the house stood on an ancient Indian burial ground, Mr. Holzer took photographs of bullet holes from the 1974 murders in which mysterious halos appeared. Mr. Holzer went on to write a nonfiction book about the house, “Murder in Amityville” (1979), which formed the basis for the 1982 film “Amityville II: The Possession”; he also wrote two novels, “The Amityville Curse” (1981) and “The Secret of Amityville” (1985). Ed Gein So ... you still want me to find a spot for old Eddie on this site, eh? I've been keeping that request swept under the rug. He was one serious monster, that is for certain. Well, there are far more important things I still need to get caught up on in this Sanctuary and many things I have yet to fix and post .... but perhaps I will consider this. Just thinking about the man makes me sick to my stomach, but for those of you who delve into the mysteries of abnormal psychology, Eddie is a real piece of extra credit work. What is it that makes humans capable of such horrendous acts? The trip to Plainfield is still on for this summer by the way. I will keep you posted. Remember, his house is gone so there is nothing to see on that property. It was burned to the ground by people who ... um ... It burned to the ground. It was a good thing. Fire can be cleansing. As far as interviews are concerned: Many locals really do not wish to speak of it and dredge up those old ghosts...but I assure you, there are many who are more than willing to offer whatever info you ask. For now, let's leave the Ed Gein idea burning on a kettle in the kitchen ...with all the body parts he collected ... and I will, at a later date, start digging into the gore and see what I can provide for you. 10/06/08 Tiffs in the Vampire / Vampyre Communities As in any community or circle, there will always be disagreements from time to time ... and sometimes there are much bigger issues and serious situations that can arise ... I have had people come to me with questions regarding the Vamp Communities and all I can tell you is this .... first, I am not a Vamp, sorry, therefore ... if you have questions or concerns regarding any issue pertaining to the Vampire / Vampyre Communities, you must go to them with your questions and concerns! I do not answer for them and quite frankly, know little of their internal affairs. However, on their behalf, I do want you to know that the vast majority of those in the Vampire/Vampyre Communities are wonderful people ... peaceful, law-abiding people ... and certainly a non-threat to society in any way ... and these are the people I personally love very much. .....but they, too, have an occasional problem with someone causing trouble or leaving a negative impression in the public eye ... an impression that reflects poorly on all the rest. Trust me, they do not approve of criminal acts or any other type of negative disruption in their communities ...no different than the rest of us and I have no doubt they will handle their problems accordingly. 10/05/08 Kick The Quarrelling Finally, it seems there is less tension now that a couple of girls have been banished from friendship circles. I understand, full well, how it is to be deceived by people, and there is absolutely no way to know everything about someone when they first introduce themselves to you ... especially if you are too busy with other things, as I am, and simply not paying attention! .... but as more disturbing information falls into your lap, and you take a step back to get a fresh perspective on the situation at hand ... ..... there are a lot of mischievous and dangerous people out there .... we just have to learn how to deal with situations like that to the best of our ability. I guess only this Rabid Witch could love a killer … Rabid Meets Rabid In my many, many years of animal rescue, my eyes have seen an overwhelming amount of sad things and my heart has been speared with sorrow and my ‘soul’ has been traumatized with brutal scenes of man’s heartless and careless deeds… I will never understand how mankind can be so horrible. Yes, the animal kingdom can also be ruthless at times and different situations need to be dealt with accordingly, but why is it I have far more patience and understanding with the four-leggeds than with humans? Oh, you do not really want me to post such a list detailing my disappointment and disgust regarding the demented thoughts and actions of humankind. It is true, my latest dog rescue is one of a particularly sensitive nature. This new canine friend who killed another dog, though horrible as it was, is not understood by others who wanted to “put her down” … this beauty who is considered “too dangerous” … this dog is now safe with me for I was her last chance at life. They say I am the only one who would accept such a vicious and unpredictable dog. They proclaim only I can understand and accept her nature, love her, protect her, and that only I can rein control of this wild, wolfen dog. They are right. I gently shampooed the blood off her fur while peering into her steel blue, untamed eyes. The bath water ran pink as it disappeared down the drain. Why she killed the other dog, we are not sure, perhaps a defense situation or needless whim, whatever ignited the attack is deep seeded in her wild nature, but she absolutely mutilated the other dog ... it was a massacre ... and I cannot bear to think of it further. She has shown no aggression towards me at all, not that it would matter. I have no fear of animals. Absolutely none ... but when I look into her eyes, I see fear and insecurity returning my stare. She fears me but has grown to love me, already, in this short time. We have a connection and a respect for each other. She heeds my every command and I will not allow her to share space with another creature, besides myself. I have won her trust and this wild dog is now at my side every moment, as James once was. She is old but her spirit is young. It is said that only the Rabid Wolf Witch could accept this ‘rabid’ wolf dog. She does not allow me to leave her sight, nor I her. She is with me in my home as she follows my every step and she is with me in my car. I believe we can read each others thoughts. She has found her home, here with me, and it is here she will stay. I suppose it takes one rabid creature to know and understand another.

Don't Leave Dead Grandma On The Shitter! Boy Who Lived In Home With Decaying Corpse Takes The Stand
MAUSTON -- The Preliminary hearing for Alan Bushey began today in Juneau County [Wisconsin] . 90 year old Magdeline Alvina, Tammy Lewis, and Lewis's two kids lived in the same house. Alvina was found dead on the toilet; investigators believe she had been dead for approximately 2 months. Bushey faces two charges of causing mental harm to a child, for telling the family to leave the decaying body of Alvina on the toilet. Officials in Juneau County say that's because Bushey is the leader of religious cult in the Necedah area. One of Lewis's children, a 12 year old boy, testified in Alan Bushey's preliminary hearing today. The boy explained the situation in the home as sometimes happy, sometimes sad and sometimes full of turmoil. He says the children had to raise their hands in order to talk to their mother or "Grandma Alvina." He later admitted that she was not related to them in any way. He says the children could not talk to each other unless it was important and were not allowed to go outside without permission, although sometimes, he said the would walk outside the perimeter of the house as a family. The boy says he was in the kitchen washing the dishes on March 4, 2008...the day Grandma Alvina died on the toilet in the bathroom. He went into the bathroom and asked his mother if everything was okay, and she said it is right now. The boy told the court that the bishop, Alan Bushey, told his family to pray and wait. The Bishop said that Alvina's family would file a wrongful death lawsuit them if she was found. Bushey told the boy that if Alvina's family did file the suit, the children would have to go to public school (which the boy has an extreme fear of), and he [Bushey] and the boy's mom [Tammy Lewis] would have to get a job because Alvina's money would be gone. Within days of Alvina's death, there were smells in the house that wouldn't go away. The boy said that if the mother sprayed 'holy water', it would go away. He said when they would go into the basement, there was slime coming from the ceiling where the bathroom was above them. His mother told him and his sister that it was demons trying scare them. The boy said his mom told him the smell was his own 'un-belief' that Grandma would come back to life. He told the court that he was paddled often by his mother because of his unbelief and if she could still smell the smell in the house, she would paddle him. If he cried, he would be paddled. The court was adjourned this afternoon with a continuation of the hearing scheduled for June 10th...the same day as Tammy Lewis's competency hearing. A Juneau County Sheriff's deputy found the body of 90 year Magdeline Alvina Middlesworth. She'd been dead for at least 2 months. Authorities say they weren't notified of her death because Alan Bushey told Tammy Lewis and her two young children not to tell and that praying over the body would resurrect it. They say Bushey pretended he was a Bishop, but his defense attorney says he's an ordained minister. Tom Steinman says, "He's a man of the cloth. He has been a member of the community for the last 10-11 years. He's celebrated mass for his followers." Steinman showed the court documents he says proves Bushey is a minister, but Juneau County District Attorney Scott Southworth isn't convinced. He says, "We differ from the defense council in that we do not view Mr. Bushey as a "man of the cloth", but as a "leader of a cult." He says Bushey's hiding behind religion, to get out of hot water for committing such a bizarre crime. The woman who lived in the house with her kids, Tammy Lewis, is also charged with two counts of causing mental harm to a child. The district attorney is also looking to charge Bushey with theft by fraud for cashing Middlesworth's social security checks and with hiding a corpse. Bushey's in jail on a $50,000 cash bond. Released On Bond 57 year old Alan Bushey has been in Juneau County Jail since the beginning of May. He was released just before 4:00pm on $10,000 bond. He was originally ordered to pay $50,000. Prosecutors say Bushey told Tammy Lewis to pray over the body of 90 year old Alvina Middlesworth to bring it back to life. Her body was found back in May, it's believed she'd been dead since March. Bushey is charged with two counts of causing mental harm to a child. He's back in court June 10th. |

How to Beat Stress … Go Nuts

Those who know me understand well, that one never knows what to expect from me at any given moment. As I just told a friend of mine ... I simply had to try it because ... well ... I'm nuts.

This Saturday, March 29, 2008 during the seventh hour in evening … I will be having a private, special peace ritual and a meditation ceremony in my home dedicated to friends and loved ones lost in this nasty war. My ceremony and meditations will last from 7pm – 9pm and will also include those lost in previous battles. Witches, Christians, Jews, non-religious friends … friends from all places plan to unite with me across the globe. I welcome you to join us on that day, at 7pm, to light a candle and take a few moments of silence and reflection in memory of our lost. Stare into your flame and see their faces, one by one, display their photos if you wish … gather with friends in public and private places to light candles, in peace, to remember those who lost their lives. For those who work weekends: There are employers who will provide a half hour of dedication in the workplace for this event. End your vigil with this affirmation, said three times, with all your heart and soul … “There shall be peace … there shall be peace … there shall be peace.” Know that our energies shall link together at that time around the world. Take note of time zones my sweets as we synchronize our mournful but peaceful link. My entire home will be lit with candles and incense will rise as I focus with you. Please pass along this information publicly or privately to other friends and groups who might be interested. If you would like to email me a photo of a lost friend or loved one to add to my altar, please feel free to do so and I will include that person in my meditations. This is not the first “Wolfen” vigil of its kind that I have done, nor will it be the last. I am beginning to make more of my activities and offerings public. You know I am not fond of our current President, Little Bush Jr., who in my opinion, would have made a better used car salesman than a President. 3. A broom ride, for some, is a claim to experiences with astral projection
4. A broom ride can be the result of creative visualization exercises with an actual witches broom present for symbolic inspiration
5. A broom ride can also be a fun interactive circle time for friends and young ones who wish to share stories or brew ideas while passing the broomstick; the one holding the broomstick has their uninterrupted turn to speak and share what they wish, or perhaps a particular topic will be chosen.

YouTube Lawsuits Are On The Rise
More and more people may soon be held responsible for videos that have been uploaded onto YouTube; those with webcams who have posted violent, harassing or otherwise considered illegal material are finding themselves in potential serious heat. Everything from copyright infringement issues to violence caught on tape, public harassment suits, public death threats, extortion, pornography, invasion of privacy, juvenile violence and drug related acts and more are under heavy lawful judgment.
YouTube has more than its share of problems these days and a vast number of places are blocking YouTube due to its undesirable and disturbing content ... while lawmakers take steps to formulate some control and new rules in the midst of the escalating storm of lawsuits being filed.
How dumb can some people be?
Example 1. : "Let's gang up on someone and beat the shit out of him and FILM it and ...OH HEY...let's make it PUBLIC!" .....you know, there was a time when violent people would not want to be caught ... they would not wish to draw public attention to such things and instead choose to drag someone into a dark alley when no one is looking.
Example 2. : Some dipshits threaten to kill others, and in there seemingly false sense of superiority decide to post it publicly on YouTube! Is there actually a word to describe someone this stupid? And do they actually think something like that will go unnoticed or unreported to authorities? It makes one wonder what kind of influence has shaped these young minds ...what is the wedge that is driven into the reasoning abilities of the gray matter betwixt their ears?
Example 3. : Pornography. Children. Animals. Adults. Don't make me connect a sentence here.
This is only the beginning people. Good grief.
The good news is, however, that stupid criminals are easier to deal with. It's pretty much cut and dry once the gavel starts slamming. Film yourself stealing the neighbors car .....and guess what! Just TRY to deny that it was you smiling into the camera with a smirk and a wave. Gang up on a twelve year old girl and rip her hair out and beat her bloody, post it on YouTube then later tell the judge, "It wasn't ME!"
As it stands right now......YouTube can be a wonderful and fun thing, as it was intended ... but it is also a trap for people like those above....many who just haven't felt the pain yet.

The First Octoberfest

In 1810 King Joseph Maximilian of Bavaria planned to celebrate his marriage to Princess Theresa of Saxonie in a beautiful meadow. His first idea was to have a horse race but the party fast became a very large gathering with plenty of beer and dance. People were having a blast ... the biggest party of all!
It is said that the King's wedding party consumed 40,000 chickens, 80,000 pork sausages, and 1,000,000 gallons of beer. (burp!) Even though the celebration goes back more than 300 years before his party, King Ludwig's party is credited as being the original Oktoberfest.
His party was such a big hit, people decided they must do this every year. The next year, in 1811, farmers of Bavaria held another Oktoberfest (probly thee biggest farmer's market you've ever attended) to sell their harvested crops and they continue to do this annually with the crowds and festivities getting bigger and bigger each year.
